It’s time to provide you with an update of what Team Pedal Moraine accomplished in 2011. Our “primarily” mountain bike racing team’s main focus is the 12-race Wisconsin Off Road Series (WORS). This year we registered 20 members into the WORS Team Competition. Many of our members participated in every race and many finished on the podium at multiple races. Their commitment to racing made us very competitive in both individual and team results including our 1st place finish if the WORS Large Team Competition!
The WORS series is only part of what the team participates in. Other events included Triathlon, Road, Cyclocross, Charity Rides, and the Wisconsin Endurance Mountain Bike Series (WEMS). TPM put on its own race in the WEMS series on May 28th; the 12 Hours at Northern Kettles. This race was not only a team fund raiser but it also supported the trail system and a local trail advocate group named “Friends of the Forest”. Our members contributed an estimate of 350 volunteer hours this season for the support of our race, trail maintenance, and other team functions.
